Biography

Okay, so I like to know a little more about some of the bloggers that I stay tuned into so I thought that I would include some information here about me. Grab a drink, a snack and curl up with your computer and learn a little more about moi:

1. I am 37 years young. My birthday is October 20, 1970.
2. I work as a RN in clinical reimbursement currently.
3. I am studying holistic health online.
4. I am practicing yoga, currently Svaroopa Yoga.
5. I would like to teach yoga someday. The peace it gives me is unbelievable and I would like to share that with others.
6. I used to work in ICU/CCU and trauma. I had certification in adult critical care.
7. I prefer to use my own mind, and to not allow it to get influenced by media, religion, politics, or even family. I can not stand when people do not think for themselves.
8. I avoid watching the news. I find them sensationalistic and mostly liars.
9. I will listen to weatherband radio for full weather reports.
10. I am an avid sci-fi fan....I really enjoyed battlestar galactica and harry potter....still watch stargate and atlantis when I can.
11. We do not have cable tv.
12. I do watch a lot of documetaries. Some of my favorites are from BBC. They usually have a nice neutral position in their presentation. Sweet Remedy, Sweet Misery, Future of Food, Zeitgeist. All good in my book.
13. I took up knitting about 3.5 years ago, after I had been in a Barnes and Noble reading Yarn Harlot's first book. It's all her fault.
14. I also have taken up spinning.
15. I just finished my first skein of yarn that I spun!
16. We have a cockatiel named Noah.
17. Meditation changed my life.
18. I sometimes think that we get too dependent on the technology that we have available to us and forget to use "that still small voice within".
19. I believe.
20. I was born in Lakenheath England due to my father being in the military at the time.
21. I would love to go see England.
22. I have never been any farther west than Ohio.
23. I love to cook for my friends.
24. I have dreams of writing someday.
25. I don't resonate with corporate america.
26. There is a native indian saying that I love: "When the last tree has been cut down and the last river poisoned, you will THEN know that you cannot eat money."
27. I was married in July 1991 and divorced in August 2004. We had nothing in common. Why it took me that long to figure out I don't know.
28. I am now happily engaged to a wonderful, wonderful man.
29. I love it when it snows...the more the better!
30. I enjoy the mountains and nature. One time when we went camping we acutally had a BEAR incident!
31. I used to do counted cross stitch and such, but once I found knitting I donated a lot of my things to a good friend.
32. I try to sew. Really try. But the sewing machine is still not my friend yet. The last time I tried to work on the machine he demaded his lawyer.
33. I find comfort in hot chocolate made from scratch and a good knitting project.
34. I cast on too many projects at one time and then it takes me forever to get a FO....I am working on this though.
35. I was vegetarian for a few years and recently started eating mostly organic free range meats. But I am considering doing a raw food diet trial.
36. One of my favorite movies is Good Will Hunting.
37. I love hearing the birds chirping in the morning. They sound so happy.
38. I love a lot of different colors but blues, deep reds and pinks are some of the better ones for me.
39. I love Spring! I also love quiet beaches in the summer.
40. I think John Lennon was right.
41. I have hypothyroidism. Recently adrenal insufficiency has been added which explains why I felt like I never had enough energy.
42. I believe that everything is curable. Find the cause and find the cure. I am working on this.
43. I have two boys ages 15 and 13. I was born to be a mother. Unfortunately, life had a different plan for me that included a horrible divorce, sneaky agendas and a sick child. I am learning to live with this.
44. After that experience though, I believe I can survive anything. I think that is why it happened. To teach me to go on no matter what. Nothing is lost in the universe.
